Clean Coal Technologies Appoints Al Knapp as Special Advisor to the Board
Clean Coal Technologies, Inc. has appointed Al Knapp as special advisor to the board. The appointment was made to strengthen Clean Coal Technologies’ expertise on the industry side, particularly as Clean Coal Technologies continues to gain visibility with coal-powered project initiatives, joint ventures, major utilities, and strategic alliances.
Al Knapp brings more than 30 years of professional expertise to Clean Coal Technologies, having worked in various roles within the heavy industrial/engineering construction business. For 25 years, Mr. Knapp held senior and executive positions in business development, general management, and project management for The Industrial Company (TIC). TIC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation and one of North America’s largest general industrial construction companies; servicing a wide range of markets including power, oil and gas facilities, and renewable energy.
During his tenure at TIC, Mr. Knapp worked with major US utilities, oversaw project deployments, and managed strategic relationships with government, utility, and Fortune-100 corporations. Mr. Knapp’s professional career began at Atkinson Armature Works, Inc., where he managed the manufacturing of high-voltage distribution equipment for the coal mining industry. He later served as project manager for the former Pittsburgh and Midway Coal Mining Company, now Chevron Mining Inc., focusing on project design and construction management in coal-centric states including Kentucky and New Mexico.
“We are pleased to announce the addition of Al Knapp as special advisor to the board,” said Mr. Robin Eves, president and CEO of Clean Coal Technologies, Inc. “Especially given the growth in domestic opportunities for Clean Coal’s PRISTINE™ technology, Mr. Knapp’s extensive knowledge of the power industry, experience with project management, and long-standing relationships with the utility groups, major energy companies, and government entities creates a strong conduit for raising awareness for our company’s capabilities and ability to better service the domestic power industry.”
About Clean Coal Technologies, Inc.
CCTI, a cleaner-energy, technology company headquartered in New York City, NY, owns a patented process technology to convert coal into a cleaner burning fuel source. This technology is a “mild gasification” process that removes moisture and volatile matters without pulverizing the coal or pelletizing it. The coal remains highly resistant to moisture re-absorption as it is naturally coated in the process. The company’s patented end product “PRISTINE™” coal is significantly more efficient, less polluting, more cost effective, and provides more heat than untreated dirty coal. The technology is based on long-established benefaction processes and utilizes off-the-shelf components and equipment. The process may remove as much as 90 percent of chemical pollutants from coal, thereby helping to resolve emissions issues affecting coal-fired power plants all over the world.
